Spring 2003 he laid a beautiful flagstone path between our houses with thick limestone pavers left-over from a job. He also built a cedar arbor as a gateway, drawing guests to enter and access either of our backyards. These flagstones inspired our own concrete-paver project. We also dug out our hillside to step it down in levels. Heavy hard work, as it also required building retaining walls around the air-conditioning unit and along the existing garden bed. Worth it though, as these wide broad steps are more easy to navigate than the slippery hillside, and also are now even with our neighbor's steps. We used the excess dirt to level our own back yard. A win-win-win situation!
